The OHMISS Executive Team
Carolyn J. Harbert
President/Lifesaver
Carolyn has spent her adult life serving others in her professional career and through her commitment to the community.
She spent 39 years with American Airlines as a flight attendant while earning literally most of the company’s top awards
and professional honors. In addition she was a flight service operational supervisor at Chicago’s O’Hare airfield. She
also participated in the opening of new markets in Europe and South America.
Over the years, Carolyn practiced and valued
the importance of superior customer service, always paying attention to even the minutest detail. She has owned and
managed several other companies including a retail store specializing in maternity, baby clothes and accessories and a
waterside restaurant in California.
She is an active member of the National Organization of Professional Organizers (NAPO), the International Concierge and
Errand Association (ICEA), the Better Business Bureau, the National Professional Women, and the newly formed
Government Liaison Committee. Carolyn is also an Ambassador for the Westshore Alliance.
Carolyn is on the board of directors of The Children’s Home where she currently serves as Treasurer. She has been an
active volunteer and event planner with The Florida Orchestra, the Children’s Home and serves as President of two
homeowners associations in Tampa, where she resides.
She loves to travel, entertain, and spend time with her husband, two cats, dog Spot, granddaughter and friends. Her
friends affectionately call her the “nice” Martha Stewart. She has been beside her husband David after he suffered
serious mobility problems after an accident. As a result his progress has been impressive.
David O. Harbert
Chairman & CEO
As chairman, David comes from a lengthy, challenging corporate and entrepreneurial background. He is a graduate of the
University of Michigan with a degree in engineering and quantitative analysis, along with an MBA. His early career was
spent with companies including Arthur Andersen, Standard Oil of New Jersey and Celanese. His background expanded as
David spent time with Austin Powder and Lamalie Associates. He later served as President of Sweeney, Harbert & Mummert
with offices in Chicago and Tampa.
In 1988, he brought the company to Tampa. He served 8 years in Tampa Bay on the
Board of Directors for The Florida Orchestra, followed by three years on their Advisory Board. He was also on the
board of the Tampa Bay Ballet and is currently on the board of The Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, NC. David
has been an advisor to the Master Chorale, worked with the community group that brought the Florida Aquarium together
and assisted in the Kids in Charge program at MOSI. He was President of Berkman Harbert Associates; an organization
that focused on accessibility for the disabled and senior citizens within community organizations such as the Tampa Bay
Performing Arts Center’s, Patel Conservatory, The Tampa Art Museum and Museum of Science and Industry.
He has also served on the Mayor’s Alliance for Disability in Tampa.
David brings a wealth of corporate experience with senior level executives from his 12 years as President
of a national executive retainer search firm. His management philosophy promoting superior customer service,
commitment to the client’s best interest and that no one is a winner if it is not a win-win provides the background
for exceptional leadership and employee training with the definite winner being the OHMISS Concierge client. David
enjoys spending his free time with his family, listening to classical music, watching movies and traveling.
Lauren A. Miller, NCIDQ
Senior Associate
Lauren Miller has an eye for detail, born of 25 years of commercial interior design practice, along with an affinity for
finding ways to improve the lives of others. Her aesthetic sense has sharpened some of the Tampa Bay area's most ambitious
construction projects, including the Tampa Convention Center. Yet she also has found herself at the humble foot of grandeur,
serving meals to the homeless on the streets of downtown Tampa.
A Michigan native, she graduated from the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago, after studies in architecture at the University
of London and Michigan State University. In Tampa, she worked for Stewart Corp. Architects, Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum Inc.,
and Alfonso Architects Interiors, often managing commercial, medical and hospital projects that entailed space planning,
preparation of construction documents, and selection of finish materials and furniture. The experiences gave her the confidence
to tackle any size job, one step at a time.
She delights in putting people at ease, equally adept at finding common ground with elderly retirees as with professional
athletes. She plunges into any topic with the hunger of a lifelong learner, never afraid to ask questions. Wherever she goes,
she makes new friends.
